Mt. St. Peter Parish to celebrate 42nd Festa Italiana

The 42nd annual Mt. St. Peter Parish Festa Italiana will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and after the 4 p.m. Saturday Mass until 10 p.m. on the parish grounds, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington.

The Festa will feature entertainment each night, including strolling accordion player Pat Septak from 5 to 7 p.m. and Larry and Nicole Bello from 7 to 10 p.m., both on Friday. The band Satin Whip will play from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

There will be children’s games, raffles and other games of chance for those 21 and over. Food choices include a variety of Italian food specialties, desserts and pastries. Parking and bus transportation will be available from the Valley High School parking lot. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

Band preview night scheduled Friday in Leechburg

The Leechburg Area High School Marching Band will present its annual preview night at 6 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Field, Logan Avenue, Leechburg.

The concession stand will be open from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Spirit wear will be sold and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will benefit the music boosters group.

Fort Armstrong Folk Festival to arrive in Kittanning

The 51st annual Fort Armstrong Folk Festival opens Thursday and continues through Sunday at Riverfront Park, Kittanning.

The festival opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be artists displaying their crafts, entertainment, a car cruise, food vendors, vehicle displays, spinning and blacksmith demonstrations and heritage music.
